Since their founding in 1905 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, Presto has consistently known what it means to evolve with the times, to produce innovative products that meet the needs of ever-changing lifestyles of the populace. From their beginnings as the manufacturer of pressure canners to the evolution of the first saucepan-style pressure cookers; from their assistance in the war efforts during World War II to their broad range of cooking appliances now available today, Presto consistently leads the way in the manufacturing of products that consumers need and they are well-versed in what it takes to create high quality appliances that stand the test of time.

The Presto 07061 22-inch Electric Griddle With removable handles is no different when it comes to the quality and durability of this product. It is large enough to accommodate the cooking of food for an entire family and compact enough to fit underneath most standard 18-inch kitchen cabinets, this griddle is the answer to many issues that are faced by those who need to cook  with limited space every day. Its nonstick surface not only makes cooking on its specially designed textured surface a breeze, the cleanup time is greatly reduced as a result as well. A slide-out drip tray is included to handle any grease or other unwanted by-products produced during cooking. When finished with the Presto 07061, all you have to do is remove the heat control element and immerse it in a sink full of water to clean it–as easy as that!

What we love about the Presto 07061 22-inch Electric Griddle is that it is exceptionally large without commanding a lot of space. What I mean by this is that it does not take up my entire countertop when using it, leaving you free to prepare food beside it, but you are certainly able to cook multiple things on it all at once due to its dimensions. This is a major time saver, eliminating a lot of time that you would otherwise spend standing over an ordinary stove top. Several burgers, pancakes, eggs, hot sandwiches, etc, can be made simultaneously on this griddle.  Regardless of what is cooked on the griddle, it all cooks thoroughly and evenly across the entire cooking surface. This helps you crank food quickly and get in and out of the kitchen just as fast. It is a true win-win for everybody.

Really Easy Storage

Storing the Presto 07061 is quite easy. Due to its shape and ideal compact size, the griddle can easily be stored underneath most cabinets in your kitchen. Its not too heavy like other kitchen appliances.

The key feature behind the easy stoarge is the removable handles which make it easier to slip into your kitchen cabinets.  To remove the handles from the griddle all you have to do is open the latch clips at the bottom of the handles. Once this is done you can then release the handles from the main cooking unit.

Without the handles attached the Presto 07061 Electric Griddle can fit into most standard 18 inch cabinets for easy storage and removal. This is one of the most appealing features of this model. Many other popular electric griddle models either have to be stored in a large cabinet or on the kitchen counter due to their size.  If storage space is an issue for you, this model might be the one to purchase.

The Cooking Surface

The Presto 07061 22-inch Electric Griddle comes with a cast aluminum non-stick surface. The surface itself is knurled (tight diamond pattern shapes) which helps prevent food from sticking onto the surface of the griddle. The only drawback to this is that the knurled texture leaves imprints on food being cooked on the griddle. While this is not a show stopper at all if you like your pancakes to be picture perfect then this might not be for you.

In terms of performance, the non-stick cooking surface is where this electric griddle shines. We have found that nearly nothing sticks to it when appropriately heated. There is no need to apply additional oil or cooking spray to the surface, saving both calories and money. Other Presto owners have reported that the non-stick surface performs well over five months after the time of purchase. Making this a very reasonably priced option that gives you bang for your buck.

Simple Cleaning

With the non-stick surface and removable handles cleaning Presto 07061 is particularly easy. Once the griddle has fully cooled you can remove the heating element and place it into your dishwasher for cleaning. The drip tray is also removable making grease clean up very easy.  The drip tray is also dishwasher safe so the overall clean up effort is minimal. There should be no need for scrubbing and if food somehow gets stuck on the griddle a sponge and mild soap should be able to  remove it.

Wrapping It Up

Overall,  this is probably the best value electric griddles out there. For everything that it offers and all of the time it saves, the food it thoroughly cooks and the little maintenance it takes to clean and care for it, this griddle is certainly worth its rather modest price point. We recommend the Presto 07061 22-inch Electric Griddle With Removable Handles for anyone looking for to add a basic electric griddle to their kitchen. . If you want a good deal on a great product that won’t let you down, opt for the Presto 07061 22-inch Electric Griddle With Removable Handles. Presto has shown the market time and time again that they are precisely in tune with the needs of their consumers, and they certainly didn’t let us down with the production of the best electric griddle out there today.

Types of Electric Griddles

There are a few characteristics that make up all electric griddles, and each griddle will come with its own perks for owning that specific one. But, in short, an electric griddle is composed of a flattened cooking surface and evenly distributed heat across the surface. An electric griddle is often preferred for cooking the aforementioned breakfast foods, but they are so versatile that you can make hamburgers and tender steaks on them as well! Typically constructed of heavy aluminum and stainless steel, griddles are durable and high quality cooking apparatuses but are lightweight enough to put them in storage and take them back out again whenever you need them.

There are two main types of griddles:

Electric Griddles

A basic electric griddle is exactly what was described above: flat surface, evenly distributed heat. There are controls on a griddle that let you set the cooking temperature to whatever you desire. Some have standard low, medium, and high settings, while others let you set a precise temperature.

An electric griddle offers a flat cooking surface with constant heat that is distributed carefully and thoroughly throughout. Controls let you set the cooking temperature to low, medium, or high or to a specific temperature, depending on the model.

Griddle Combinations

There are a number of griddles available that offer more than just a single flat surface; some griddles offer the option of a grill plate, and some offer a griddle plate, a grill plate, a contact grill and a Panini press! The grill plate will leave those beautiful and tasty grill marks when you want to make a steak or burger, and the Panini and contact griddles will offer a lid that closes down upon them to cook that way.

Now that you understand the two basic types of griddles, let us look at what sort of features griddles have to offer so you can begin to think about what would make the best electric griddle to suit your specific cooking needs.

Things to Consider When Purchasing an Electric Griddle

Griddles will often be rather large in size, giving you a generous, flat surface upon which you can cook a number of items. Some allow you to cook several portions of food at once, while some are only suitable for small amounts at a time. With a contact grill, you can use a small amount when you want it and have a big grill when you need it just by opening up the lid and cooking it flat.
Preferably, you are going to want to look for a griddle that boasts a non-stick surface. This is often what makes a griddle just as good, if not better, than a standard frying pan. Since griddles are most often used for things that have a tendency to stick, like eggs and pancakes, this is definitely something to keep in mind. Also, nonstick griddles make for the easiest clean up!
Grill Inserts
Grill inserts are of course optional, but some griddles do come with the choice to slide on a grill insert in order to create those pretty little grill marks that are so visually pleasing.
Temperature Controls
Some griddles will afford you the luxury of choosing a precise temperature setting for the surface to heat to. This helps to ensure that you are getting your food cooked exactly the way you want it to be cooked. Others will provide general heat settings like the typical low, medium and high settings. A few even have “warm” options and “sear” options that will further help you customize how you are cooking your food.
Dual Thermostats
While there are many griddles that have a single heat control, or thermostat, there are several models that have a really neat option for dual control or dual thermostats. Dual thermostats allow you to divide the griddle up into two portions and have one cooking at one temperature, and the other cooking at another. This lets you heat one half of the griddle at a time so that you can be sure the heat controls are where you like them before you begin cooking foods that require two different temperatures right beside one another. This is an incredibly useful function!
Drip Trays
A drip tray is an important facet of any electric griddle. When fat cooks down from foods like sausage, hamburger meat or bacon, it liquefies and can create quite the mess if not dealt with properly. A drip tray serves to catch that grease instead of letting it pool on the cooking surface by way of drain holes or a slanted cooking surface that channels the grease into the tray. There are also ones with gutters around the edges to collect the by-products.
Warming Drawer
A few electric griddles will offer a warming drawer that keeps food warm while the rest of it is being cooked!
Easy Clean  Up
This is an important one, too, as one of the major perks of owning an electric griddle lies in the simple cleanup process. Griddles with nonstick coatings are super easy to clean, and what make it even better are those that can go into the dishwasher just by removing the heating element.
While there are more inexpensive ones, if you want a few neat features to go with your electric griddle, it may be worth it to look into ones at a higher price range. Regardless, it is pretty much guaranteed that you will find one within your budget.

The Best Electric Griddle Choices

Okay. So now you have a basic idea regarding what features are potentially available on different types of griddles. Below, I have compiled a list of some of the best electric griddles you can find, simplifying the buying process for you!

Presto 07061 22-inch Electric Griddle With Removable Handles

The Presto 07061 22-inch Electric Griddle With Removable Handles is an electric griddle that is large and capable of cooking enormous amounts of food at once. This 22-inch griddle can accommodate the cooking of meals for a large family every day or making it easier to cook for parties. It has a long-lasting nonstick coating which helps with the cleanup process, and I have never had anything stick to its surface. With the included Control Master heating technology, it heats up the entire cooking surface quickly and evenly every time so that you are guaranteed your food will cook easily and thoroughly.

For those perfectionist home cooks who want their pancakes to be perfect, it is worth knowing that this griddle has tiny diamond shaped textures on it, supposed to help with the nonstick element. These little markings do sometimes transfer onto the food, but other than that, you will barely notice them.

All-Clad 99014 GT Electric Griddle with 20 x 13-Inch Hard Anodized Cooking Surface

This is one of the best electric griddles when it comes to that convenient dual cooking surface I mentioned earlier. It has two thermostats that let you set specific temperatures in order to cook two different foods that require different temperature settings at once. It is made of the highest quality metal components as this company has a long history of metalworking, so they really know their stuff. With the included stainless steel detachable drip tray and its nonstick properties, cleanup is an absolute breeze and you will be done before you know it.

Some people on a budget might be a bit off put by the price point. In my opinion, a high quality griddle might cost a little extra, but it is worth it especially when you consider the dual thermostat technology–it is like getting two griddles in one.

Take a look at my full review of the All-Clad 99014 GT Electric Griddle with 20 x 13-Inch Hard Anodized Cooking Surface, Silver, too!

Cuisinart GR-4NR 5-in-1 Griddler

This one is a real doozy! The Cuisinart GR-4NR 5-in-1 Griddler, Silver, Red Dials comes with 5 separate ways to cook your food: a griddle, a grill, a griddle/grill combination, a contact grill and a Panini press! It really can do it all and you would think that due to its versatile nature it might be hard to clean. Fortunately, as it is nonstick and each griddle plate is replaceable and dishwasher safe, all you have to do is pop them out of the unit, use the dishwasher-safe scraping tool to remove any residue, and then pop them into the dishwasher!

This one takes a little time to heat up, but with everything that it can do, I truly do not think that this is much of a downside in the slightest!

Look for my full review on the Cuisinart GR-4NR 5-in-1 Griddler, Silver, Red Dials.

BLACK+DECKER GD2011B Family Size Griddle

This electric griddle boasts a variable temperature setting that lets you choose the precise degrees with which you will heat your food. Choose from a low, warm setting to keep food toasty while you cook, or hike it all the way up to 400 deegrees Fahrenheit! With a temperature range that broad, it is difficult to think of a food that cannot be cooked on this griddle. The BLACK+DECKER GD2011B Family Size Griddle, Black also comes with that nifty detachable drip tray and is coated with a nonstick formula that makes cleaning up after use simple as can be.

The only concern I have about this griddle is that it has a rather small drip tray. This is hardly a real downside, though, because it doesn’t take long at all to empty and it isn’t a once-every-ten-seconds kind of thing.

Have a peek at my full BLACK+DECKER GD2011B Family Size Griddle, review!

Oster CKSTGR3007-ECO DuraCeramic Reversible Grill and Griddle

This is one of the best electric griddles in my opinion. The Oster CKSTGR3007-ECO DuraCeramic Reversible Grill and Griddle, Black comes with what they call Dura Ceramic technology. This is a ceramic heating surface that is ultra-nonstick, lasting up to 4 times longer than average nonstick griddles.

The ceramic component also helps to spread the heat out more evenly from its source, absolutely assuring that your food will be heated evenly and perfectly every time. The ceramic heating also means that your food will cook up to 20 percent faster than it would on other griddles! It has a large cooking surface on top of that, making it so you can cook a lot of food all at once, and the cleanup is super simple since it is nonstick and is dishwasher friendly.

The only real drawback to this is that it takes a bit of time to preheat, but I have found that spending that time preparing the rest of my meal such as my salad and vegetables fills that time quite well and speeds up the meal preparation process entirely.

See my full Oster CKSTGR3007-ECO DuraCeramic Reversible Grill and Griddle, Black!
Whatever griddle you choose, the best electric griddle for you will ultimately come down to what sort of features you want! I hope this guide has helped you decide, and don’t forget to check out the reviews mentioned for a more in-depth analysis of the best electric griddles.

Waffle Maker Recipes We Recommend You to Try Tue, 25 Oct 2016 08:36:29 +0000 The post Waffle Maker Recipes We Recommend You to Try appeared first on Kitchen Appliance Expert.

Although people usually bake waffles the same way every time, there are many tasty recipes you could try. Surprise your family with a fantastic breakfast tomorrow morning! The resources you’ll need for these recipes are minimal; all you need is some ingredients, time, and good will. After baking these, your kids won’t go back to regular waffles ever again; they’ll love these. For the best possible result, use a professional waffle maker. So, without further ado, let’s start cooking!

Clean Eating Waffle Iron Omelets

This is an incredible breakfast dish. You could never imagine that eggs can be cooked in a waffle maker. If you’re a fan of proteins in the morning, this dish is the perfect thing for you. It is low-carb, nutritious, and most importantly – easy to make. Anyone can make this dish with only six ingredients, so besides being easy-to-make, it’s also quite affordable.

The great thing about this dish is that if you bake more than you can eat, it’s easily freezable. Simply put it in your freezer and reheat it the next time you want a tasty breakfast. So, you can freeze these and warm them in the toaster like you can with regular waffles! Although these are great for individuals on low-carb diets, they certainly don’t taste like low-carb food. They taste delicious!

Clean Eating Waffle Iron Omelets

The ingredients

  • Three whole eggs
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan
  • 1 cup finely chopped mushrooms
  • 1/2 tablespoon of garlic powder
  • 1/4 tablespoon of dried thyme
  • One tablespoon of oil

The directions

Pour all the ingredients into a medium-sized bowl and whisk them all together until they become a homogenous mixture.
When the mixing is done, pour the mixture onto the non-stick surface of your waffle maker but make sure you don’t pour more than you want, because you’ll have eggs coming out from the sides. You’ll need good evaluation skills for this step if you want to avoid the mess. Also, if you have a lock on your waffle maker, use it.

You’ll hear a lot of crackling and whistling as this mixture cooks. Once those sounds fade out, your breakfast is pretty much cooked.

Chicken, Broccoli and Cheddar Potato Waffles

This meal is delicious, easy-to-make, affordable, and most importantly – it can be baked in a waffle maker. Although we all love conventional waffles, they tend to get boring after a while. People love to experiment with different meals. Someone somewhere made a perfect combination of these ingredients and started a revolution. If you’re a fan of healthy, strong meals – this is the thing for you. Once you bake these, you’ll never go back to standard waffles.

It’s a relatively simple dish, and it will impress your friends and guests coming over for lunch or dinner. It’s also not time-consuming, you’ll need around 45 minutes to prepare and bake this meal. So, for under an hour, you’ll have some of the most delicious chicken waffles you’ve ever tasted.

Chicken, Broccoli and Cheddar Potato Waffles

The ingredients

  • 5 Yukon gold potatoes
  • 1/3 cup 2% milk
  • Three tablespoons of unsalted butter
  • 1 1/3 cup chopped rotisserie chicken
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 1/3 cup finely chopped boiled broccoli
  • 1/2 teaspoon table salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon coarse ground black pepper
  • 1 cup of flour
  • One large egg

The directions

Boil the potatoes for about 30 minutes, until tender. After draining them in a large bowl, mash them and add milk and butter. Mix the batter until it becomes homogenous.

Stir in the chicken, cheese, broccoli, salt, pepper, flour and egg.Turn the waffle maker settings on medium or high heat. Spray the surface with the non-stick spray if needed. Pour in the mixture and wait until it’s slightly brown. Serve it warm with some cheese grated on top.

This meal is recommended for lunch due to its high nutrition values.

Waffle Chocolate Chunk Cookies

Because any recipe including chocolate is worth trying, this dessert is automatically a winner. If you like sweet cookies and chocolate in general, you have to try this one. The best part of this recipe is that you don’t need a standard oven to bake some cookies; a simple waffle maker is more than enough.

Also, if you’re a fan of dunking, these cookies are optimal for it. Make sure you let them cool down a little, though, to get the required crispness for the best taste.

best waffle maker recipes Chocolate Chunk Cookies

The ingredients

  • 1/2 c packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 c granulated sugar
  • 1/2 c butter, melted
  • 1 egg
  • One tablespoon of vanilla extract

  • 1/2 c mini chocolate chips or chopped chocolate bar ( I used 1/2 bar of Hershey Special Dark )

The directions

Melt 1/2 cup of butter and pour it into a mixing bowl. Set it aside. Then, whisk together all the dry ingredients (flour, salt, and soda), add chocolate chunks and stir. Add both sugars to your melted butter and stir until smooth, then add egg and vanilla.

Add the dry ingredients with chocolate and fold it in. Do not over mix. Scoop the dough by teaspoons and bake for about 2 minutes. You can bake them for another few seconds if you want them browner and eventually crunchier.

Rice Cooker Recipes: What to Cook besides Rice? Mon, 24 Oct 2016 14:15:08 +0000 The post Rice Cooker Recipes: What to Cook besides Rice? appeared first on Kitchen Appliance Expert.

Despite its name, the rice cooker isn’t a single-purpose kitchen appliance. You can make many amazing and tasty dishes and meals using your rice cooker. If you think about it, the rice cooker is quite similar to a slow-cooker, so anything you can cook in a slow-cooker is possible in a rice cooker as well. These rice cooker meals will sweep you off your feet with tastiness and simplicity. Gone are the days when you only cooked rice in your unit, widen up your horizons and start experimenting, you won’t have a single regret.

However, before you start experimenting – try cooking one of these recipes. Most of these recipes are quite simple and straightforward, so don’t worry, you don’t need to have Jamie Oliver’s skills to cook these meals. Without further ado, let’s cook!

Super Cheesy Polenta

Polenta is the definition of comfort food; a warm cornmeal porridge that’s the perfect side-dish to accompany your main meal. In this recipe, this meal gets an ultra-cheesy treatment. However, if you’re not a dire fan of cheese, feel free to lower down the quantities.

In the end, you cook for your personal preferences, so a slight change of particular ingredients won’t change the whole meal much. It will stay perfectly tasty.

Super Cheesy Polenta

The ingredients

  • Two tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 onion, chopped
  • One clove garlic, minced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup polenta
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt, or more to taste
  • 2 ounces shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 2 ounces shredded Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

The directions

Place the butter, onion, and garlic in the rice cooker, close it and turn it on. Cook the mixture until the onion is soft and translucent. Stir occasionally for 10 to 15 minutes.

After 10-15 minutes, add chicken broth, polenta, milk, and salt. Cook on full cycle, occasionally stirring until polenta absorbs the liquid. That should take about 20 minutes. Add Cheddar cheese, Parmesan cheese, and black pepper; stir until the cheese melts.
This meal should be ready in around 40 minutes. It takes 10 minutes to prepare it and 30 minutes to cook.

Rice cooker Kimchi

Kimchi is a fermented spicy cabbage and radish dish originating from Korea. It is known as one of the healthiest foods in the world. Because it’s rich in vitamins, it is said to be a cure for any mild sickness. Also, it’s low on calories thus perfect for individuals on low-calorie diets.

Probiotic benefits of this meal are known to help with intestinal issues. Although this meal can be bought in stores, there’s nothing better than making your own. The possibility to fine-tune particular ingredients allows you to cook this meal to your preferences.

Rice cooker Kimchi

The ingredients

  • One small Napa cabbage, about 1 pound, cut in half and sliced into 1/2 inch slices
  • One daikon radish julienned
  • 6 Thai chiles, minced
  • Two cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup green onions cut into 1/2 inch pieces
  • Two tablespoons of ginger grated
  • 1/2 cup coarse sea salt
  • Two tablespoons of unseasoned rice vinegar
  • One tablespoon of sugar

The directions

Fill the inner pot of the cooker with two cups of water and mix in the salt. After the salt dissolves, add cabbage and stir to coat well. Close the lid and let it sit for 24 hours, stirring occasionally.

After a day, drain the cabbage and mix in the rest of the ingredients. Put it in an airtight jar and seal well. Let it stand for three days at room temperature, and make sure to turn it upside down occasionally to assure all cabbage is covered with pickling liquid.

Remember, you don’t need to cook this meal, let it ferment.

Country Style Ribs

You have to try this meal; it’s amazing. If you thought that ribs are a barbecue-only meal, you’ve been wrong for a long time. Your rice cooker can offer amazing pork dishes cooked to perfection.

The ingredients and resources you need are pretty affordable and are available in any store or market. This particular recipe includes Guinness beer, but you can use whichever suits your taste the most.

Country Style Ribs

The ingredients

  • One package or 4 pieces of J.H. Country Style Ribs or 1 slab of Baby Back Ribs
  • Two tablespoons of olive oil
  • 3/4 cup Brown Sugar
  • One 12oz bottle dark beer (or any beer)
  • 2/3 cup Thick & Spicy BBQ Sauce
  • One teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce

The directions

Pour the olive oil into your rice cooker and heat it up. Pour 3/4 cup packed brown sugar in a bowl and roll ribs. Be sure to coat well because this will help to create your caramelized sauce at the end. Once the ribs are coated, brown them in oil.
Once browned, add any brown sugar you have remaining. Also, this is the moment to add beer. Don’t forget to add the barbecue sauce and Worcestershire sauce as well.

It should get foamy and ready to cook. Secure the lid and leave it to cook slowly. It usually takes about an hour for this meal to cook. It is recommended that you leave the ribs in the sauce for 15 to 20 minutes after cooking. Leaving it on the room temperature for a while will thicken the sauce. Enjoy your meal.

Breville is an Australian manufacturer founded in Melbourne in 1932. They produce small kitchen appliances, and they’re the original creators of the sandwich toaster. The sandwich toaster was a massive success in Australia, and they soon launched their sandwich toasters in New Zealand and Great Britain. Once again, the sandwich toaster was a major success in these countries and soon spread all over the world. It has become so popular that some countries refer to any sandwich toaster as a Breville. In 2002 the Breville brand was launched in Canada and the US. They trade in over 30 countries including China, Mexico, Israel, Brasil, and more.

The company started off by making radios and mine detectors for the WW2. After the war, they turned their attention to small kitchen appliances. Breville sold their radio division in 1951 but continued as a family business with a focus on small appliances and on seeking innovations to make everyday life easier. In the 1960s they established the Breville Research and development Center which enabled it to design and produce its very own products. This Centre developed some of the most iconic Australian kitchen appliances, such as the Breville Snack ‘n’ Sandwich maker.

With the continued growth of the electrical business globally this company had to maintain its quality of production. The market was flooded with various kitchen appliances, and the vast majority of those devices were low-quality, cheap units. With a consistent flow of top-quality products coming out of the company, they managed to stay near the top even with an over-flooded market underneath their feet. This goes to show that this company has the reputation of being among the best kitchen appliance manufacturers on the Australian market, and even in the world. Whichever product you purchase and is made by them won’t leave you with regrets.

Cuisinart is an American home appliance brand owned by Conair Corporation. The company was started in 1971 by Carl Sontheimer with a mission to bring a food processor to the US market. This company makes a lot of different products such as brick ovens, hand mixers, waffle makers, espresso makers, kitchen tools, rice cookers, and more. The important thing to remember is that the vast diversity of the products they make does not affect the quality of production. In simpler words, it doesn’t mean they make low-quality products just because they make a lot of different ones.

Carl Sontheimer got the idea to start this company by seeing a food preparation device while traveling in France in the 1970s. The goal was to shorten the time and effort invested in pre-cooking preparation. With this idea in his mind and his brilliant expertise in engineering, Carl introduced the food processor to North America. In 1973 at the National Housewares Exposition in Chicago he unveiled his prototype, and it impressed the crowd immediately. Even in the early years, this company thrived in the quality of production and innovations. Although the sales started slowly, by 1975 Cuisinart started to become more popular because some of the culinary celebrities started using it thus providing great marketing.

Two years later, Cuisinart’s sales reached $50 million. From that point on, this company started selling more than 250 thousand units per month. Their price-to-quality ratio is exceptional. There’s something for everyone’s budget. Also, as we said, the quality of their products is top-notch. They have the reputation of being among the best on the American market at the moment. With their innovative technologies, constant modernization, and development, it doesn’t look like they’re going to settle down anytime soon. If you ever buy something made by them, you won’t regret it.

Black and Decker

Black and Decker is an American producer of hardware, accessories, and more. This company was founded in 1910 by S. Duncan Black and Alonzo G. Decker as a small shop in Maryland. In 1916 Black and Decker began designing and manufacturing their electric-powered units. The German electric tools were heavy and difficult to operate, and, as a result, had not been commercially successful. Black and Decker designed a universal motor. It was the first motor used in electric tools, and it used alternating or direct current. The Black and Decker universal motor also had a trigger switch modeled after the mechanism in the Colt revolver.

In 1917 the company was awarded patents for its pistol grip and trigger switch. After that, they constructed a factory on the outskirts of Towson, Maryland and by 1918 sales surpassed one million dollars. The thing that launched them high is the innovative portable tool technology. By the end of the WW1, they presented portable electric tools like screwdrivers and grinders. Portable units were the beginning of a new era of conventional tools. The company used aggressive marketing and product services to build its client base. Aggressive marketing is also one of the important triggers for their massive success on the World’s market.

In 1946 the company introduced the world’s first power tools for the consumer market – the inexpensive Home Utility line of 1/4-inch and 1/2-inch drills and accessories. In the first five years, up until 1951, over one million power drills were made. A set of circular saws was introduced in the early 50s as well. Over the years Black and Decker faced numerous challenges like economy crashes, drop in sales, and more. They have come out victorious from every challenge and continue to own the power tools market. Besides quality power tools, they also produce exceptional kitchen appliances. Choosing them won’t turn out as a mistake.

The company was founded in 1924 by John Oster, and it was manufacturing manually powered hair clippers designed to cut men’s hair. It was established in the garage of John Oster in Wisconsin. Four years later they introduced a motor-driven hair clipper, and soon the company became the first choice of professionals in hair style industry. The motor-driven unit was a huge success, and John started to expand his empire. 18 years later John decided to diversify from barber products to small house appliances. This moment was the turning point for the company. It earned an excellent reputation for being one of the top-quality companies on the market at that moment.

As years passed by grinders, blenders, and other appliances became more powerful and began to offer multitasking features. With the technological growth of these units, the company grew as well. By the 1960s the company was acquired by Sunbeam Corporation of Chicago, became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sunbeam, and became a symbol of good quality. With the introduction of the Oster in2itive Blender, a new technology was born. The new unit featured preset cycles that could automatically determine blend time and blade direction. Preset cycles were a new technology, and it was a major success.

In the mid-2000s they launched their Inspire Collection. The collection was perfect for people who wanted to improve their cooking skills. The main elements of this collection were quality, consistency, and durability. The market exploded after the arrival of the Oster Inspire Collection. Their kitchen appliances thrive in baking, cooking, broiling, and more. A well-known celebrity chef by the name of Michelle Bernstein has been chosen to be the spokesperson for the Oster brand in 2010. Michelle got the AAA Five Diamond Award, so she’s pretty qualified for picking premium quality products.

Hamilton Beach

Hamilton Beach is an American manufacturer of air purifiers, home appliances, and commercial restaurant equipment including blenders, toasters, mixers, slow cookers, clothes irons, and air purifiers. It was founded in 1910 by Frederick J. Osius in Wisconsin. The company sold products that Osius invented himself. At the time, electric motors were only used in commercial applications. Chester Beach developed a lightweight universal motor used for appliances in the home. These were the beginnings of the Hamilton Beach brand. After that, the company began to produce motor-driven units, including the iconic Drink Mixer. Shortly after they expanded and started manufacturing food mixers, fans, floor polishers, meat grinders, juice extractors, and more.

In the early 90s, NACCO Industries wanted to bring Hamilton Beach and Proctor-Silex closer and create the largest manufacturer of kitchen appliances in the US. 25 years later, this company continues to grow, and they continue to develop innovative technologies. They currently employ more than 550 people globally and sell over 30 million units yearly. In 1995 the company expanded and showed up on the market of big countries like India, China, and Brazil. They have a unique method of analyzing the local market instead of doing the global analysis.

In simpler words, the dedicated teams of developers outside the US take the demands of their local markets instead of following the US market’s requirements and needs. A rare upside of modern companies is a good customer support. This company has an excellent customer support, and they are more than willing to help at any moment. They also have profiles on social networks and are, generally, quite active. The interaction with the consumers is crucial for a well-respected company. Their websites offer downloadable guides, hundreds of amazing recipes, and detailed information about their products. They continue to impress with their innovations.

Choosing the Right Coffee Maker

Drip Coffee Maker

This coffee maker is electric and operates by plugging it in and starting the coffee dripping process. Cold water has to be put into a flexible hose that can be found at the base of the reservoir that leads to a thin metal tube.

That metal tube is like a heating chamber made of aluminum, and there a heating element that surrounds the metal tube heats also the water. Later the water that is heated up moves through the machine using the thermosiphon principle.

Because of this, the water is moved through insulated rubber into a spray head and onto a ground coffee. This coffee taste is strong and good, and it has a capacity of 4 cups.

French Press

This type of coffee maker requires coffee of a coarser grind than the previous one because the finer grounds will seep through the press filter and into the coffee.

Because of this, the coffee has a finer taste, but overall all coffee tastes just as great. The difference is only in the machine. With this coffee maker, it is brewed by placing coffee and water together and stirring it, leaving it to brew for a few minutes.

After that, next thing is pressing the plunger to trap the coffee grounds which can be found on the bottom of the beaker.

Other Types

There are many other various styles and models of coffee makers. Some of them are often hi-tech and automated, making it harder to understand at times how they work. Then again, there are those old style coffee makers that are simple to use. These old coffee makers are working by using the steam to circulate the water and the brewed coffee through the grounds in a separate chamber. This old system wasn’t bad but now more and more coffee makers are automated, and the old ones are becoming a thing of the past.

Criteria We Used to Select the Best Coffee Maker

The downside of buying a coffee maker is cleaning it, and for some buyers, this can be a real pain. If you want the good taste, you will have to clean it more often.

Many people like fancy, oversized mugs but in reality, a certain amount of coffee from a coffee maker won’t fill it all the way up. When this happens, you will think that you don’t have enough coffee and will take more than you need.

Whether it is a big family or a party, you can imagine how great of a coffee maker you need. The coffee maker that is made for a small family or one person won’t do the work when it has to fill 14 other cups of coffee.

On some coffee makers, you will have features to choose the strength of the coffee, which is usually normal, regular or bold. Option to choose is good enough reason to buy the coffee maker, and if you have many advantages with your coffee maker, that is how you will know it is the one.

Somewhat it is, because, after all, it will be on your kitchen counter. It has to look good too and have a great taste as well.

Yes, it does because some people have small kitchens or don’t have space on their counters. Because of this, know the size of the coffee maker you want to buy.

Things to Consider

As you will find on our list, there are many options and many things you will need to think about first when it comes to buying one coffee maker. Don’t just be a coffee lover, be an expert in knowing a thing or two about the coffee makers. The prices between individual brands differ; sometimes in larger amounts and sometimes in smaller.

It is a buyer that decides whether or not it is worth that much money. Reviews help people make a better decision in deciding if they want to buy a certain brand and why and why not is best to buy. A coffee maker is a machine that works in its principle: some are electric, some are old fashioned, but they all serve the same purpose: to brew coffee that has great taste. And the emphasis is on the taste specifically.

If the coffee maker fails to produce that fine smell and taste of the coffee, then that coffee maker is not doing what it should, and you have ended up with more of a loss than a win. On the other hand, when it comes to design, they also vary in shape and size.

It is best if you could buy the one that suits your kitchen well and to make it shine rather than just to look ugly on the counter because there is a lack of space. This is also important because many time people don’t bother that their coffee maker is making the kitchen look ugly.

About the shining of the appliance mentioned, it really should be regularly cleaned and thoroughly cleaned because all kinds of bacteria can get inside and all over the place if it isn’t clean properly and regularly. Then you and your household are at risk of getting sick, and well, coffee won’t have that same great taste. Be sure to remember this before you buy the coffee maker.
